History of Lisahally

Lisahally under manager Raymond Whoriskey
Lisahally Football Club is an amateur football club currently competing in the Premier Division of the Derry and District League. It is based in the Strathfoyle area of Derry. The club was initially formed by the workers of Lisahally, but has since developed and offers the people and indeed, youth of Strathfoyle an outlet for recreation.

Affable football man Raymond Whoriskey was manager when some of the most gifted players to ever come out of Strathfoyle lined out for Lisahally, but success was surprisingly limited and it wasn't until Topher Whoriskey and Chris Tracey assumed the reins that the Strathfoyle Men's fortunes improved.

Under 'Topher' Whoriskey and Chris Tracey, Lisahally won their first trophy in 2008, winning the First Division Cup. However, promotion to the top division continued to elude the Strathfoyle men.

In the 2010/2011 season, Rory Kirk and Danny Brown took over management duties, with Kirk declaring his intention to get his local team promoted. Indeed, in a remarkable first season for the new management, Lisahally won the league and cup double.
